About Vi (“Vee”)

Hi! My name is Vi, and I’m honored to be considered as your birth & postpartum support person.

In 2018, my husband and I moved to San Francisco, California seeking a change of scenery from the winters of Boston for career and personal growth. This is where we had our first son, in 2019, through an uneducated induction election that shaped how I wanted to birth my second baby. Not only did I realize I was uninformed parent but I didn’t know that supportive, empowering, birth professionals were out there.

I entered motherhood defeated, torn, tired, and discouraged. If I can change that trajectory for other women and families, my goal as a doula will be fulfilled. My second birth was accompanied by the wonderful Luna Birth + Wellness that inspired me to take my experience from pregnancy and childbirth to sign up for a doula training workshop and immersing myself into birthwork.

My focus includes changing the conversation with other AAPI women, as a second generation Vietnamese American, I want to educate other families on options aside from the medical system narrative, normalize the challenges with postpartum depression and/or anxiety, and offer lactation support with often challenging breast anatomy.

Now that we are back in the east coast, I cannot wait to dive in and share the doula love with this community. I would love to share my experiences with you, in hopes that I can help you (and your partner) feel as powerful, confident, and prepared as possible for this birth journey.
